That someone and something is Juli Adams and her ” kid’s rooms that
glow” store called Firefly Furnishings.

Before going any further let me say this is my idea and not her’s. i
will not accept one cent for my comments and you might think that is
what they are worth.

But the simple fact is that i have bought grand-daughter Vivian a
dozen presents over the year’s and each one has drawn raves. that is
not easy because Vivian lives in lower New York City, where everyone
thinks that anything with originality, taste or sophistication can
only be found in the land of Broadway.

Now i know that grandfather’s are not supposed to have any feel or
taste for clothes, furnishings and toys for anything younger than 21.
well, maybe we don’t know but we have learned to identify people and
places that do have those things.

This is the only reason for this little note. once you meet Juli and
her crew you will instantly feel comfortable in the knowledge that if
it exists and has anything good to do for new-borns to 4 year-olds you
are quite likely to find it here. i am not talking about just some
cutesy fad. i am talking about clothes, toys and furnishings that
someone who knows and loves children has made available.

Example- a rocking apparatus that comes as close to imitating me as
anything i have ever seen. I did not think i could ever be matched in
a rocking chair but i am worried about this thing. I just bought a
red raincoat with black dots that is as ladybug as you can imagine.
before i walked out of the store i bought a matching umbrella and
boots. To top it off, i bought a hooded bath towel– that you guessed
it–it is red with marching black dots.

I know papous-grandpas well enough that i am rapidly running out of
your attention span. i know i good thing when i see it, find out for

Try something new and fabulous! One of my favorite furniture companies, Argington, makes a variety of great storage pieces. The Eiffel Book Case is a fun and modern piece that is great for both playrooms and bedrooms. The doors on this piece allow you to hide away some of the clutter, while leaving a great central space for display. Argington also makes the Fuji Toy Box, again providing ample hiding space with a fun open space for access to favorite books or toys. The Fuji Toy Box can also double as seating; just place one of their organic cotton cushions on top.
